Thinking out loud

* On giving myself some advice.

Facing Forward

As to all challenges wherein you stumble and fall, you must get up, tend to skinned knees if necessary, dust yourself off and push on.

Nobody said things would be easy - at least nobody I know. Some even go straight to it and say things could be downright difficult. Note the word could, because like anything else in life it’s all up to you what you want to make of it. It could be easy after all, or at the least, easier than what you initially thought. Again, it’s all up to you.

Sometimes you can’t help but veer from your path. You get sidetracked. Well, it is nice to wander off sometimes, to know what’s beyond yonder. A dash of curiosity and adventure to life adds spunk to it. Taking risks shows courage and often faith. Besides, there is no one path. Whatever road you take or new trails you blaze, you’ll get to where you need to be. I believe life works that way. Trust it. Trust God. Most certainly, your Friend trusts in you.

Tired? Take a break. You have enough time for everything, don’t worry about it.

I once heard a story about two woodcutters in a contest to find out who can hack more trees in a day. One worked 24 hours straight, the other took 15-minute breaks after every three hours or so.

The one who cut trees the most? It was the woodcutter who took breaks. Why? Because every time he went back to cutting trees he had more energy and during those breaks he had taken the time to sharpen his axe.

Take a break. I am sure it will be good for you in the long run.

Sometimes things could get confusing, especially when you get to crossroads and such. During these times, sit down, close your eyes, breathe, and listen. Often, in the silence, your heart will speak to you and direct you to the right direction. Trust your heart, it knows much more than your mind, because it doesn’t get scared and doesn’t panic like the latter.

Often, when you are just on the edge, you discover how to surrender. That is why they say it is at your most confused that you are most certain. And in the Bible it says it is at your strongest that you are weakest and at your weakest that you are strongest. This because it is often in your weakest that you begin to listen to your inner voice.

And you know what? I want you to remember something. Amidst all the challenges that may come your way, remember that I love you, that I will always support you and that I will never leave you.

You can achieve anything, love. You can surpass anything, love. You can be, love. Just love.

You don’t get it yet? You will. Trust me.

Now show me one of them smiles of yours.

Beautiful.
